Mars Odyssey THEMIS images - December 29, 2008-January 2, 2009

The following new images taken by the Thermal Emission Imaging System (THEMIS) on the Mars Odyssey spacecraft are now available:
  • Channel (Released 29 December 2008)
    This small channel system is located on the outer rim of Sytinskaya Crater.
  • Volcanic Vent (Released 30 December 2008)
    The volcanic vent and related flows in this image are located in Elysium Planitia.
  • Candor Chasma (Released 31 December 2008)
    This VIS image shows part of the floor of Candor Chasma.
  • Polar Dunes (Released 1 January 2009)
    This VIS image shows a small part of the north polar sand sea [or erg].
  • Polar Textures (Released 2 January 2009)
    With the surface frost removed by the summer sun different polar textures are exposed.
