HiRISE images for August 5, 2009

The following new images taken by the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter spacecraft are now available:
- Light-Toned Rock and Scarps
These features appeared in MOC images R10-03225 and R16-01292. - Stratigraphy Exposed in Crater Wall
- Multiple Slip Face Dunes
- Blocky Floor Deposit in Melas Chasma
- Small Cavi and Contact Relationships
- Small Impact Crater in Cerberus Palus
This observation shows a lava plain near the Martian equator. The lava is superposed by a small, fresh crater that is itself surrounded by boulders that were ejected from the surface when the impact occurred.
