The following new images taken by the Imaging Science Subsystem (ISS) on the Cassini spacecraft are now available:
  • Shadow on a Thin Ring (Released 2 November 2009)
Saturn's moon Prometheus casts a shadow on the narrow F ring in this image captured weeks after the planet's August 2009 equinox.
  • Reflecting on Icy Rhea (Released 3 November 2009)
Bright sunlight on Rhea shows off the cratered surface of Saturn's second largest moon.
  • Atmospheric Distortion (Released 4 November 2009)
The Cassini spacecraft looks past the night side of Saturn, dimly lit on the left of this image by ringshine, for a subtly distorted view of the planet's rings.
  • Pitted Hyperion (Released 5 November 2009)
The Cassini spacecraft peers at the pitted surface of the small and irregularly-shaped moon Hyperion.
  • Shadows Side by Side (Released 6 November 2009)
A pair of moon shadows and a series of spokes adorn this ring image taken about a month after Saturn's August 2009 equinox.
