MER mission updates by Steve Squyres return
Tue Apr 19, 2005 at 12:51 UTC
Mars Exploration Rover principal investigator Steve Squyres will continue with his updates as he did before surface operations. He indicates that he will try to post updates at least once a week. Highlights in this update: Spirit has spotted an interesting outcrop of layered rock called Methuselah. Current power situation is very good at 800 watt-hours. (900 watt-hours at landing over a year ago.) Opportunity's right front steering actuator stopped working a few sols ago and has now arrived in the etched terrain. PI update is here.
Also worth a mention is Mars Exploration Rover Imagery by Michael Lyle/Norman Vine/Daniel Crotty.
